Two friends. One voice. One Paralympic dream.
Working title · a documentary in production
Does life shrink when something essential falls away, or can we find a new horizon?
The bond
Maximilien is losing his central vision to Stargardt disease. On the slopes he skis almost entirely on faith — and Jérémy, his lifelong friend, guides him down by voice alone. This is not a film about disability, or about skiing. It is about what two people build together when the usual landmarks begin to disappear.
Trust & sound
Sound is at the centre of the film. Jérémy's voice is almost a character of its own — a continuous thread of instruction, reassurance and rhythm that turns two bodies into one moving line. Listen.
Training session — Jérémy guiding Max by voice.
Maximilien
With Stargardt disease, it is the middle of the gaze that fades first — the place you look when you want to see something clearly. The edges remain. Max has learned to build a life, and a sport, around a horizon that keeps changing shape.
The road to Milano-Cortina
Filming began in January 2024. Across more than two years we followed the competitions, the families and the daily life — all the way to the Milano-Cortina Paralympic Games in March 2026, where Max and Jérémy competed. We filmed their races from the inside, alongside the staff of the Belgian Paralympic federation and the families who carried them there. The film is now in post-production and we need some extra help to get this story told.
The team
An independent documentary, followed for more than two years by a deliberately small team — close enough to the story to be trusted inside it.
